After editing this set of pictures, I wanted to tell Taylor that I was tired of looking at his face. But... that was a lie. Seriously, the kid is pretty dang handsome.

And apparently the good-looking genes run pretty strong in this family because he also has a completely beautiful sister.

The original location we picked for this family's pictures turned out to be completely and unmanageably busy so they sportingly agreed to try out a completely new location. And I'm really glad they did because not only did we have the place all to ourselves, but it turned out to be a great place for pictures.

Get ready for three of the loveliest girls.

And some nice lady even brought over this adorable antique tricycle. This shoot was really so fun.

After the cold cold weather of mid-October, I was worried that picture-season had come to a close. Fortunately it warmed right back up and this last week has been crazy busy. This family had great energy and they were just awesome to work with.

The kids were so cute and fun to work with. They were silly and loved to run around but they pretty much did everything I asked them to.

There were so many from this shoot that I loved... sorry!

Baby Milo

My dear friend Jessica brought her darling baby boy over for some pictures. I had a fabulous time with them. It's lucky she dedicated an entire afternoon to this, because little Milo was so determined to be awake that it took a while to get him resigned to the idea of taking pictures. I think this is the only sleeping picture we were able to get.

He was awake the the rest of the time but fairly agreeable. Milo's dad had a special blanket when he was little that has been saved all these years. We took some pictures with 'Lankie'.

And then when Nate was on his mission, he had another special well-loved blanket, 'Mission Lankie'.

I did this cute family's pictures last week and I love how they turned out. It was such a beautiful fall day and we were lucky that it was warm weather.

The two girls were completely different, one was 100% cooperative and easy to take pictures of.

And the other was SO tired and shy (there was a chicken running around that she was afraid of) but we did get some lovely shots of her.

They're so adorable!

My ever-so-beautiful sister-in-law Jackie is expecting a little girl in the new year - so it was the perfect time to take some belly pictures of her!

We loved playing around with all the lighting options available in my house - this is my daughter's pretty daybed but we loved the soft pink canopy.

I love the light in this picture but it makes me laugh because we had a black backdrop hanging off the back deck with the barbecue grill right behind her and both my kids running around like little crazies.

I wouldn't have guessed this would turn out as cute as it did - I love the contrast.

I love the bright colors of this one and the light was so fun to play with.

This shot looks so easy-breezy but it was a nightmare. Sheer fabric hanging from the trees, the neighbor's cat attacking everything that moved... we loved how it turned out though.

My entire family got together for a big group picture. We loved the location where I did the previous shoot so much that we all met there. My dad brought his camera to take a few shots and my sister's boyfriend took the group ones after I set everything up. It was a much better arrangement than the set-the-timer-and-run technique that had been previously employed. Especially since my shoes were not of the 'sensible' variety.

I never took engagements or bridals of this sister when she got married, so I took lots of pictures of the two of them to make it up to her.

Plus now they have a new addition - a furry clawed one.

I love this picture of my three cuties.

15 phone calls to decide what colors we were wearing, 2 hours of shopping for jeans, probably hundreds of combined miles of driving and 183 pictures later we have the finale - the big group shot.
You guys are awesome! I love you!

You might think that 5 kids would make for a difficult family photo session... and in this case you'd be wrong. These guys were awesome and so much fun!

We went to a few different locations to get the most of the beautiful fall leaves. We got so many great pictures that I had a hard time narrowing them down to post here. So enjoy!

Rob & Andrea's wedding

You may remember this cute couple from their engagement pictures a while ago. Well they had a lovely wedding at the Salt Lake Temple and here are some of their pictures.

I love Andrea's dress - very different from the current trendy dresses. She looks so statuesque in it.

Whoa, this is starting to feel like a lot of pictures! I picked out only my very favorites but there were a lot that I loved!

They had a lovely backyard reception with tons of yummy food, beautiful decorations and even a fire pit where you could roast your own s'more. It was seriously so awesome!

Maternity pictures x 3

My sister-in-law and her two best friends are all pregnant with their first babies. They are all due in different months so their cute bellies are all different sizes. For this special occasion, they wanted a unique photo shoot. Sadly the weather just would not cooperate with us and it started to rain and thunder - we didn't get too many pictures. But I totally love these.

Look how beautiful they all are - expecting those cute little bundles.

Amanda is having a boy, Alexa is having a girl and my sis Jackie won't find out for another 2 weeks!

This dog belongs to the owners of this orchard and it just took a liking to all of us and wanted to be in the pictures too.

These pictures were taken at the Star Mill - an antique store with endless possibilities. Old barns, antique chairs and even this fabulous old bus!

As you can see, there were a lot of people in the shoot, so there are a lot of pictures here too! We got so many pictures that I totally love - this family was so patient and full of great ideas.

This little cutie was so tired... but she still had a few smiles left for us.

This lovely little lady is getting baptized and her mom wanted pictures with her white dress. The sun was going down in this beautiful orchard and it was an amazing setting. These are some of my favorite pictures (it was really hard to narrow it down!)

Baby Fallyn

You may remember this perfectly lovely family from last year. Well they have a new addition!

For being only 6 days old, she was sure awake a lot. It was OK though, because she had such beautiful blue eyes.

Fallyn is so lucky to have 3 great older siblings - they were so loving and gentle with her.

Even though we had equipment problems, this family were such great sports and we got some awesome shots of them. Never fear - glitchy camera problems have been solved! There were a lot of pictures of this family that I really liked and wanted to post here.

We thought the contrast of the fancy-dress outfits and the beat-down backgrounds would be interesting. I really like it! What do you think?

My latest family shoot was a blast - we had a lucky break in the weather and we went to this fantastic abandoned house where I have been dying to shoot. Brick walls, old sheds and even a few friendly horses made for some great backgrounds.

This family is adorable and I love them (they are friends of mine and live one street over). Their kids are so beautiful and photogenic. The boys were really interested in the horses but only from a distance.

Their baby boy is a red-headed sweet heart. And since he moved much slower than his brother, he was easier to get pictures of! ;)

The picture on the left is one of my all-time favorites - it captures their personality just right. Thanks you guys, I had a great time with you!

I loved this family, they were lots of fun. The kids had already had a really long day but they were so patient and just did whatever I asked them to. In the midst of all the rain, rain and more rain, we miraculously got a few clear hours and were able to get some great pictures.

Rob & Andrea engagements

This shoot was so much fun! We tried out this awesome abandoned house location that I discovered a few months ago. It looks scary on the outside but it makes a great background. I am really happy with it.

And lets not forget Rob and Andrea. These are their engagement pictures and they are a really fun couple. They were totally willing to try any crazy ideas. The only hard part was that Rob is probably more than a foot taller than Andrea... always a challenge.

By strange coincidence, Rob is the brother of Nick in the post right after this one. What a year of weddings for this family!

Beautiful, beautiful girl. Don't you love the random gust of wind? I wonder how I can work this out every time I do pictures...

This was such a fun couple to work with. And they weren't nearly as cold as I was! The recent rain has melted a lot of the snow and we had a break in the weather that let us get some good pictures.

I'm starting to realize that I love feet pictures. I have one in almost every shoot.

They were so natural and fun... and of course, in love.

Bowler Wedding

I'll be the first to admit that this wedding was a huge challenge for me. Indoor pictures are a maze of competing light sources, tight spaces and uncooperative backgrounds. Add about 100 family members to be included in the group pictures... and you've got yourself a real project.

However, with this beautiful couple, how could you go wrong?

This was such a fun family... but we had terrible luck with the weather. It was cold, threatening to rain and totally clouded over. Still, their little girl was so darling and willing to do just about anything I asked her to. We didn't get very many pictures of the baby because I was just too afraid to have her out for long.

I would so wear these boots if they were my size...

I've done pictures for this family a few times and they just keep getting cuter. Especially little Mylie and her adorable Cindy-Lou-Who pigtails.

Tanner was willing to make a variety of faces... but few of them were smiling ones. His dad was able to get him to laugh but nothing I was doing worked. Tough crowd!

I think most photographers don't do a lot of pictures for their own families. I know I struggle with my two kids. Today I took them both out on the 4-wheeler and saw a location that was perfect. I had to give it a try.

Just a few minutes into this project, I remembered why I don't do their pictures often. They don't listen to me! Threats like "Bart, if you don't smile, you'll get locked into your room until you grow facial hair!" don't really faze him. And Lisa does this thing where she looks anywhere but the camera. Plus, no one can give you fits of the giggles quite like a sibling, especially when you're trying to be serious.

However, in spite of an entire reel of these:

...you do finally get one of these.

Noorwood pictures

This is my friend Kelsey and her adorable family. We found this fun little park that might be a little too close to the freeway (wow, it was loud!) but has some great architectural elements that made for some fab pictures.

Their son Joel was... let's call him "enthusiastic". He cleverly eluded every trick, ploy or game I could come up with. Poor Kelsey and Boyd were so tired after one hour but he never got bored of escaping every picture.

I got some good ones, in spite of his monkey-tricks.

We fooled him into this picture by trying to take ones of just his parents. Haha Joel, we're still too smart for you...

Thanks you guys, I had a great time, even if you did need to go home and take a nap. :)

As far as fun photo shoots go, this one ranks pretty high. Awesome location, cooperative kids, not too awfully cold (if you can't see your breath, it's not too cold) and basically the coolest family around. Seriously, what could be better?

Engagement pictures were a nice change of pace - especially since you can relax and not have to tell knock-knock jokes and hand out mints to get a shot. Although... maybe it would be even easier if you DID hand out mints... I'll have to try it.

Anyway, Jeff and Katy are the most adorable couple. I totally enjoyed working with them. We went from one end of Provo to the other, from the Tabernacle to a park to a hill overlooking the valley to capture a gorgeous sunset.

This was a fun but hectic shoot. Meetings, hair and traffic had us running horribly late, we hadn't decided exactly where we were shooting and when we finally found the perfect house with a blue brick wall, the owner was less than excited to let us use it. It all finally came together and we got some lovely pictures of a perfectly beautiful bride.

If you were a BYU freshman, what about this scene would make you think "I think we should unload a couch onto the sidewalk right behind her?" Because that's what 3 guys did.
